Breathing in the Goddess
This idea come to me a while back - I had the door to The Goddess House open and the wisteria growing over the building was in flower so there was a gentle scent on the breeze. It was not all that cold and all that could be heard was the odd tinkle of the wind chimes.
The candles were flickering a bit and there was a steady drift of incense smoke rising - I have a preference to using resins and handblended incenses as opposed to joss sticks .. but every now and then I do revert back to the sticks as they are so handy.
There is a motion I performed called the 'WINGS OF ASET" where you start with your arms by your sides and as you inhale, you slowly raise them. When your arms are above your head, bend your hand slightly so that the finger tips on each hand almost touch. Then when you exhale, slowly lower your arms and then bring your hands to prayer position at the front of your chest.
For those who have seen the movie 'THE MISTS OF AVALON' I guess that the WINGS OF ASET is every similar in how Morgan and Vivienne parted the mists.
Prior to performing the above movement, I make sure that I am standing squarely on my feet - that I am anchored to the ground - often we do not shed our weight equally on our feet. Feel that connection with the ground. Then I take a couple of slow, deep breaths to relax and centre myself.
Now I am ready to perform the WINGS OF ASET.
Slowly inhale and raise your arms - pause - then slowly exhale and lower your arms. Repeat as many times as you feel comfortable.
